Objectives

The Jason Fund has several objectives:

To enable CHUM (Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal) to set up an interdisciplinary medical team to look after the needs of youths with cancer in the Montreal area and elsewhere in the province, if required.

To develop a support network among and for youths with cancer, including:

  - Social and financial services specifically for them,
  - Patient support groups,
  - Services of a psychologist adapted to their needs.

To invest in the development of diagnostic tests for various diseases to assess the potential of using new therapies and/or ones which are usually not considered for these diseases.
To provide funds for these new treatments for young cancer patients who cannot follow conventional therapies.

These initiatives must be undertaken not only to provide competent care, but also to demonstrate to our youth that society cares about them, that they are important to us and that we are investing in their health and in their right to live as normal an adult life as possible as allowed by medical breakthroughs.
